Water Access

What This Focus Area Addresses

Lack of reliable access to water for people and animals due to climate change, prolonged drought, and land loss in East Africa. Many communities lack consistent access to safe surface or groundwater, affecting health, livelihoods, and survival.

What the Project Does

Maasai Water Project designs and supports water systems that increase access for households, livestock, and community use. This includes rainwater catchment, storage and delivery systems, and support for Indigenous groundwater harvesting techniques.

Who This Work Serves

Pastoralist families, women, children, and communities that rely on livestock.

Priority groups include women, children, elderly community members, and households without reliable water access.
