Cultural Preservation

What This Focus Area Addresses

This focus area supports the active preservation and continuation of Maasai culture by centering Indigenous identity, knowledge and practices in program delivery. Cultural continuity is maintained by designing services and initiatives that work through existing cultural structures rather than requiring change in order to access support.

What the Project Does

The project supports Indigenous cultural preservation through books, education, language materials, storytelling, and community-led knowledge sharing. Indigenous practices and identity are centered in the implementation of food security, education, health and economic autonomy focus areas. All projects are designed to operate through Indigenous systems in support of cultural preservation.
