Maasai Water Project is an Indigenous-led East Africa initiative of Humanculture advancing water access, food security, health services, education, and women’s economic autonomy.
The project is governed and led by local Maasai leadership and operates through Indigenous systems and local consent across East Africa.
Core Focus Areas

Providing sustainable access to water through storage, catchment, delivery support, and locally managed solutions designed for remote conditions.

Distributing emergency food during periods of scarcity and supporting long-term food stability through livestock programs, including goats and cows for widows and vulnerable families.

Building and supplying schools in remote Maasai villages so children and women can access education without leaving their land, families, or culture.

Delivering culturally appropriate healthcare through visiting female doctors, menstrual health supplies, WASH support, and essential medications in remote villages.

Supporting Maasai women through jewelry sales, livestock ownership, beekeeping, and community-based economic initiatives that allow women to generate income independently.

Preserving Maasai culture by designing programs that align with existing systems and traditional ways of life.
Preserving stories, songs, language, and knowledge through books, art, exhibitions, fashion and global advocacy.
